Creamy Mushroom Salisbury Steak Bake
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900 g) ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 (10.5 oz) cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- ½ cup milk or beef broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, breadcrumbs, and egg.
- Form into 6–8 oval or round patties.
- Arrange the raw patties in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix together:
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Onion soup mix
- Milk (or beef broth)
- Sliced mushrooms (if using)
- Pour the soup mixture evenly over the raw beef patties, just like in the picture.
- Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake another 15–20 minutes, or until the beef reaches 160°F (71°C) and the gravy is bubbling.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
